Postcard From That Book Place

Hello to all readers who came to see us at That Book Place in Madison, Indiana on Saturday! Thanks for stopping in and making the time fly.

Somehow, we ended up taking more cars than we had drivers. Well, no, that’s a lie, but we took more cars than seemed altogether necessary. We all got there, though, and just about on time: T. Lee Harris, Ginny Fleming, Glenda Mills, Joy Kirchgessner, Samantha Lopez and me, Marian Allen. Joanna Foreman, alas, was indisposed and couldn’t make it, which was a shame, as she had fans show up specifically to get her autograph on her GHOSTS OF INTERSTATE – 65.

I tried to get a picture of us together, but getting us together is like herding cats (see carpooling, not, above). We finally got most of us behind the signing table, but sit? focus? Not so much. Joy shows her professionalism by sitting in a composed manner and looking directly at the camera. Thank you, Joy.

Frank and Dan of That Book Place had advertised the signing, and there was a steady stream of people through, some specifically to meet us and some to browse the immense selection of used (and some new) books, CDs, books on tape and DVDs. When we weren’t at the table, we wandered about talking books with customers. OTHER customers, I should say, since I think we all found treasures for ourselves. I met another Marion Chesney fan. That Book Place didn’t have any Marion Chesney Regency Romances the woman hadn’t read, so I sold her a Georgette Heyer.

Totally professional

We were there from 11 am to 4 pm, and never a dull moment. We didn’t even have lunch! Oh, yeah, and we sold many, many, many books. 🙂

Thanks, Frank, Dan and Kim, for a wonderful signing! We’re looking forward to being part of That Book Place’s 5 year Anniversary Authors Fair Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:00am.

Sure was fun to meet you guys!! I’m starting all the books I bought from you all for my regular lunchtime reading tomorrow, as I just finished The Bolyen Inheritance and will have to locate the present-day incarnation of King Henry VIII and wring his neck before I start another Phillipa Gregory novel. I look forward to sitting in on one of your meetings when EST is in effect again and I’ll have new glasses. 🙂 (The better to see you with, my dearies!)

crap. Boleyn. Yes, I edit posts and e-mails. Too bad I don’t edit before I hit send.

And I meant EDT. I blame the full moon. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.
